**JOB DESCRIPTION**



**DIRECTOR OF LIFESTYLE**



Aparium Hotel Group is looking for a Director of Lifestyle to join our team for the future opening in The MC Hotel in Montclair, New Jersey. Montclair gets a premium, full-service hotel for the first time since 1938.



Working with Marriotts Autograph Collection, Aparium is helping bring an authentic experience to the heart of Montclair, New Jersey for the first time in decades. The $38 million dollar, 150 room, ground-up development is scheduled to open in 2019. Included in the downtown hotels plans are a farm-to-table restaurant, rooftop bar with unparalleled views of Manhattan, curated lobby market, and six-story parking garage. Additionally, plans call for 13,000 square feet of chic event space and meeting rooms, including a state-of-the-art conference center.



Founded in 2011, Aparium Hotel Group is a Chicago-based, leading lifestyle hotel company owned and operated by industry veterans accomplished in hotel development, management and marketing. Aparium Hotel Groups growth is guided by its ???Translocal Hospitality?? philosophy, which is the belief that great hotels are a destination sought out by travelers and a place that thrives as a gathering hub for locals. Specializing in historic adaptive reuse projects, each of Aparium Hotel Groups properties are independent brands and celebrate the specific neighborhoods and unique history of the distinct cities in which they reside. Aparium Hotel Group currently operates ten hotel properties across the United States with more than a dozen new projects in development.



The Director of Lifestyle will be responsible for managing the Hotel brand, relationships and programming. In this role, you will drive new and oversee existing partnerships and experiences at the property, ensuring that Aparium standards are exceeded. You will report to the General Manager of the property, with a dotted line to the Chief Relationship Officer at Aparium.



**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**



**Hotel Brand**



+ Embody Aparium brand image and voice at property level

+ In partnership with national PR team, ensure accurate messaging, and cultivate and drive local media relationships to promote events and local storytelling opportunities

+ Facilitate onsite media requests, interviews and photo shoots

+ Hire, develop and guide social media consultant on content, voice, engagement and calendar in collaboration with Aparium Marketing

+ Liaise with Aparium Marketing to ensure Hotel brand voice is consistent across all forms of communication (email, print collateral, promotions, etc.)



**Relationships**



**Internal**



+ Collaborate with GM and EC team to consistently bring the Aparium brand to life

+ Collaborate with Chief Relationship Officer to activate global relationship on property

+ Assist in managing Hotel ownership and investor relations

+ Participate in propertys culture initiatives such as lobby duty program, MOD, meetings, events, etc.



**Guests**



+ Provide daily and weekly information on anticipated VIP arrivals, meet, greet and tour as needed

+ Direct all VIP experiences (creation and execution) for Hotel and F&B Outlets

+ Manage Hotel database of VIP information, preferences, needs, and past communication

+ Interface with Hotel and Restaurant guests to ensure customer satisfaction in an unparalleled atmosphere



**Collaborators**



+ Inherit and develop relationships from Aparium HQ including local artists, musicians, makers

+ Activate and create ongoing relationships to drive collaborative programming on property



**Community**



+ Attend and network on and offsite events and with influencers in the community in a social setting

+ Cultivate and maintain active relationships with locals and transients in following categories: Art, Business, Celebrity, Entertainment, Hospitality, Investor, Media, Neighborhood, Non-Profit, Social Media Influencer, Sports, Tastemaker



**Programming**



+ Generate experiential programming to create an increase in revenue through food & beverage, events, room sales

+ Generate experiential programming to create an increase in revenue through food & beverage, events, room sales

+ Drive translocal experience via events in the following categories: health and wellness, art, fashion & retail, music, F&B

+ Manage planning, schedule, execution, relationships, internal communication, promotion and budget for each event



**PROPERTY SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:**



+ Will vary from property to property and will be detailed in a specific addendum

+ Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel



**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**



+ 4-year college degree or equivalent experience

+ 4-year college degree or equivalent experience

+ 3-5-years of experience working with VIPs, handling high level guest requests or similar exposure

+ Event & brand management experience strongly preferred

+ Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

+ Excellent presentation skills

+ Must be proficient in computer systems, Microsoft office

+ Able to work on site or make local visits to partners, clients, etc.; able to travel if needed
