In support of the IS Telecom services provided in North America, we are in search of an experienced Telecom Manager. The focus of this role is twofold. First is to lead a team of seasoned telecom professionals based throughout North America. Second is to manage the telecom activities at all sites throughout the region, respecting the defined SBS methodology and tools in order to have a common user experience at all sites.Job Overview and Responsibilities Work with team to develop a set of processes in order to provide coverage of all sites Manage a team of remote telecom professionals and all related personnel topics including but not limited to: Performance Management & Compensation Out of office coverage for critical activities including a documented backup matrix and communication plan Develop and manage regional Telecom communication planning and documentation Develop successful relationships with the other IS regional and global teams including: SDM Wisdom, Change Manager, SDM Security Telecom, eWorkplace, Architecture & Projects, Global Hosting Other regional telecom managers as required Develop and maintain the specific job descriptions for Telecom team members Manage resource requirements and overall workloads Develop plans for managing overload situations Develop an annual roadmap Manage IS audit action item spreadsheet. This includes managing the regional telecom audit items and working with the global telecom team for all global issues Develop annual budget requirements and manage a budget
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in IS, Business or a related
Skills At least 5 years of experience managing IT professionals. Experience managing a remote workforce is highly desired. At least 8 years of experience in information technology with a high-level understanding of the telecom environment. Telecom includes LAN, WAN, Voice, and Video. Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate, both verbally and in writing, to audiences with varying levels of IT knowledge and from executive level to individual contributor. Ability to travel domestically up to 25%. International travel on occasion for meetings.
